1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish the requirements, principles, and procedures governing trainer authorization within the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

This policy aims to ensure that all authorized trainers demonstrate appropriate professional competence, instructional capability, ethical conduct, and commitment to maintaining the quality standards established by BISS.

The framework supports professional development, promotes consistency in training delivery, and protects the integrity and reputation of BISS certification and authorization systems.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals applying for, holding, or maintaining authorization under the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

It governs trainer authorization activities conducted under the authority of BISS, including application, assessment, authorization, professional conduct, quality assurance, and ongoing compliance requirements.

This policy applies to all authorization levels established by BISS.

3. Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

BISS means BISS Safety & Security Academy Ltd.

Trainer Authorization means formal recognition granted by BISS to individuals who have successfully met the applicable trainer authorization requirements and have obtained active authorization status.

Authorized BISS Trainer means an individual holding entry-level trainer authorization under the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

Certified BISS Trainer means an individual holding an advanced trainer authorization level based on demonstrated competence, performance, and professional development.

BISS Master Trainer means the highest trainer authorization level within the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

Authorization Approval means formal confirmation that an applicant has successfully satisfied the required assessment criteria and may proceed to authorization activation requirements.

Active Authorization means trainer authorization status that has been fully activated and remains valid in accordance with BISS requirements and policies.

Trainer Authorization Handbook means the operational guidance document issued by BISS containing applicable procedures, operational requirements, administrative guidance, and other information relevant to authorized trainers.

4. Trainer Authorization Levels

BISS applies a structured Trainer Authorization Framework to recognise professional competence, support continuous development, and maintain consistent training quality.

The framework consists of three progressive authorization levels:

  • Authorized BISS Trainer

The entry-level authorization awarded to trainers who successfully satisfy the BISS assessment requirements and obtain active trainer authorization status.

  • Certified BISS Trainer

An advanced authorization level awarded to trainers who demonstrate sustained professional performance, instructional competence, ongoing compliance with BISS requirements, and continued contribution to the BISS training framework.

  • BISS Master Trainer

The highest level of trainer authorization within the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework, awarded to trainers who demonstrate exceptional professional standing, extensive instructional experience, long-term commitment to quality, and continued contribution to the development of BISS training standards.

Progression between authorization levels is determined solely by BISS in accordance with the applicable authorization criteria and operational requirements.

5. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants seeking BISS Trainer Authorization shall satisfy the general eligibility requirements established by BISS.

Applicants are expected to:

  • Submit all documentation required as part of the application and assessment process.

  • Demonstrate professional integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.

  • Comply with all applicable BISS policies, procedures, and quality assurance requirements.

Meeting the general eligibility requirements does not automatically result in trainer authorization.

BISS reserves the right to request additional evidence, conduct further assessment, or decline any application where the required standards are not satisfactorily demonstrated.

6. Application and Assessment Process

All applications for BISS Trainer Authorization shall be submitted through the official application process established by BISS.

Applicants are required to provide all documentation and supporting evidence requested by BISS as part of the assessment process.

Successful completion of the assessment process does not automatically activate trainer authorization status.

7. Authorization Approval

Applicants who successfully satisfy the assessment requirements established by BISS may be granted Authorization Approval.

Authorization Approval confirms that the applicant has successfully met the required assessment standards and is eligible to proceed to the authorization activation stage.

Authorization Approval does not constitute active trainer authorization and does not permit the applicant to represent BISS, deliver training under the BISS framework, issue certificates, or use BISS branding.

BISS reserves the right to define and amend the applicable activation requirements in accordance with its operational policies and quality assurance framework.

8. Activation of Trainer Authorization

Trainer Authorization becomes active only after the applicant has successfully completed all applicable activation requirements established by BISS.

Only trainers holding Active Authorization status may:

  • Represent BISS as an Authorized Trainer.

  • Deliver training under the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

  • Access trainer operational services and resources.

  • Participate in trainer progression opportunities.

11. Certification and Programme Delivery

BISS operates a centralized certification and quality assurance system to ensure the consistency, integrity, and credibility of all training delivered under the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

Authorized trainers may deliver only those training programmes approved by BISS and within the scope of their authorization.

All learner certificates issued under the BISS framework shall be processed, approved, and issued exclusively by BISS through its official certification system.

Authorized trainers shall submit all required learner records, assessment documentation, and supporting information in accordance with the operational procedures established by BISS.

  • Avoid any conduct that may compromise the reputation or integrity of BISS.

  • Maintain confidentiality of information obtained through their professional activities.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any situation that may affect impartiality.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and BISS policies relevant to their training activities.

Any conduct considered by BISS to be unethical, misleading, fraudulent, discriminatory, or likely to damage the reputation of BISS may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or withdrawal of trainer authorization.

BISS reserves the right to investigate any alleged breach of professional or ethical standards and to take appropriate action where necessary.

13. Suspension, Withdrawal and Appeals

BISS reserves the right to suspend, withdraw, or refuse to renew Trainer Authorization where an authorized trainer fails to comply with the requirements of this policy, applicable operational procedures, or any other requirements established by BISS.

Circumstances that may result in suspension or withdrawal include, but are not limited to:

  • Failure to cooperate with quality assurance activities or investigations.

Where appropriate, BISS may provide the trainer with an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made.

Applicants or authorized trainers may submit an appeal against decisions relating to trainer authorization in accordance with the BISS Appeals Procedure.

All appeals shall be reviewed fairly, independently, and in accordance with the applicable BISS procedures.

The decision of BISS following completion of the appeals process shall be final.

14. Trainer Authorization Handbook

BISS issues a Trainer Authorization Handbook to provide authorized trainers with operational guidance relating to the implementation of the Trainer Authorization Framework.

The Handbook may include administrative procedures, operational requirements, progression criteria, service information, pricing schedules, and other guidance considered necessary for the effective operation of the framework.

The Trainer Authorization Handbook does not replace this policy but shall be read in conjunction with it.

BISS reserves the right to revise, update, or replace the Handbook and its contents at any time in accordance with operational requirements.

The most recent version of the Handbook shall supersede all previous editions.

15. Policy Review and Amendments

BISS reserves the right to review, amend, update, suspend, or replace this policy at any time where considered necessary to maintain the effectiveness, integrity, and continuous improvement of the BISS Trainer Authorization Framework.

Any revisions shall become effective from the date determined by BISS and shall supersede all previous versions of this policy.

The current version of this policy shall be published through official BISS communication channels or made available upon request.
